Where Have All The Elders Gone?

In fast paced environments that constantly demand you to evolve in the realm of current events, technology and even rules of engagements, do you take the needed time to tap into the elders within your community?

We must make the time to serve our elders while they are still with us.

In your consideration of time and patience with the elders of your community, you must ask yourself, ” Is this how I would like to be treated in my later years?”. This self-assessment will allow you to execute your next steps. Whatever it is you decide to do, you should be sharing your time and gifts that the elders in your community who have aided in development.

The distinction between an Elder versus am “Older” must be acknowledged. An Elder is vetted, appointed by their community and conducts themselves as leaders of those junior to them. When you are merely Older, there is an unwillingness to mature and accept required responsibilities within your chosen community.

Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching.

1 Timothy 5:17

In the segment, Senior Sovereigns in Charge | Enlightenment and Transformation , Chief Yuya speaks on the importance of simply asking an elder, ” How are you doing?” You can can glean much wisdom from an elder by sparking a conversation. Lessons you would have missed at age 8, resonate within you now in your adult years. Though some of our elders may have passed on, there is always someone in need of that simple care and conversation. Take some time to slow down a bit, and learn that the feet of your elders.
