Our natural design is to be led by the soul. From the beginning, the spirit of pride has been the biggest downfall of original people. Being prideful isn’t something we should boast about or take it upon ourselves to be. We should leave that for others to do…family, friends and members of our community are to be proud of us. Being pride-full prevents you from knowledge because you become a know it all. In the secular world, pride is treasured. The universal display of pride is usually shown by an erect spine, chest out, smiling.
Certain communities use the term pride to speak about where they are emotionally, and the spiritual aspect of pride can be disruptive to these models so it’s strayed away from. What some of them feel like doing is an exact reversal of what the creator has already done.
In the Tanakh, your greatness rests in letting go of all pride. Pride is so severe, it got an angel kicked out of heaven. Yah said he doesn’t love the proud. Pride has the potential to remove you from The Most High’s sphere of love. Do you want that separation?
